Because we here at 'Spoiled Rotten' Kennel
live in the south and it is so hot, we choose
not to keep long coats on our Shih Tzus.
We keep them shaved down short.

If you keep your puppy/dog with long
hair be prepared to add a daily job to your list
requiring daily brushing to keep mats from
forming. Your Shih Tzu will require going to a
groomer approximately every 4 - 6 weeks.

AT THE GROOMER:

Your groomer should take care of the following:

Giving your puppy/dog a bath
A hair cut
Cleaning of their ears
Clipping of their nails
The expressing of their anal glands.

If your puppy/dog sits and scoots around rubbing
their bottom on the floor, chances are their anal
glands need to be expressed. Your groomer should
do this every time you have your puppy groomed. If
you keep your Shih Tzu shaved down, brushing
their coat needs to be done twice a week.

If you should have any other questions regarding
grooming or anything else pertaining to your Shih
Tzu, please feel free to email us at
admin@spoiledrottenkennel.com
and we will do our best to provide you with the
appropriate information.
